Attendance Reminders

Good afternoon,

Please review the attached information and help us continue to maintain strong attendance throughout the school year.
Our overall attendance rate for the first six weeks was 98%—which is great! Our goal is to maintain a 97–98% attendance rate for the entire school year. Regular attendance is important for student success, and daily attendance also plays an important role in school funding.

Generally, an absence may qualify as excused for reasons such as:

• Funeral – Must be for an immediate family member with proper documentation
• Doctor appointment-with a doctors note
• School-sponsored curricular or extracurricular activities

Unexcused Absences

The following are generally not considered acceptable reasons for missing school:

• Staying home to care for a sibling or parent
• Missing school without appropriate documentation when documentation is required
• Non-enrollment days – Days a student is not enrolled or attending school due to changing schools
• Traveling out of town to visit relatives or taking a family vacation
